Abstract
Energy metabolism is fundamental to all life. We want to understand how the regulation of energy metabolism evolves, and how it can be rewired to produce novel behaviors. This goal will be achieved by integrating bioinformatics, metabolomics and synthetic cell biology approaches in two related yeast species with different physiologies. Our work will provide critical insights into principles underlying metabolic changes associated with human aging and disease.
