Abstract
Simultaneous and recursive relationships exist in many biology system. For example, animal movement is dictated by joint and bone structure, and the way animals move can also affect how the bone and joint mature and/or degenerate with ageing. However, there is limited knowledge regarding the causal relationships among gait, bone shape and joint structure changes. Understanding the interconnected causal networks among these features may allow earlier diagnosis of major joint diseases. The aim of the project is to elucidate the different connectivity and causality structures among osteoarthritic features, and to evaluate the likelihood of mitigate or alter their progression experimentally.
